How to build a mic adapter for PSP Slim


If you are interested in using a microphone in your PSP to make calls with Skype, and you bought the original headphone but can’t afford the official headset, don’t worry you can still use a regular PC headset. Keep on reading to know how…

Requisites:

  • The official headphone for PSP Slim: headphone model PSP-S140 (It doesn’t work with fake ones)

PSP headphones

  • 2 female 3.5mm mini jack

  • 1 four conductor 3.5mm mini jack

  • Wires
  • Patience

Procedure

This adapter will split the PSP’ s official headphone connector, so you will be able to use a regular PC headset by connecting the mic and the phones to the female 3.5 mm mini jacks. To make the adapter just solder wires to each connector following this schematic:

Testing the adapter

Before trying to make calls, check each connection point with a tester. If  you’re sure everything is fine then:

  1. Connect the adapter to the PSP’ s headphone.
  2. Connect you PC’ s headset to the adapter.
  3. Make a Skype phone call.

    @Luis los auriculares oficiales son estos http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Headphones-Remote-Control-White-Sony/dp/B0007V46IY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288414359&sr=8-1. Respecto a el resto de los componentes, si en una tienda de electrónica de seguro venden todos los conectores mencionado en este post.

    No tengo ninguna imagen por dentro del conecto, pero el diagrama lo explica bien en detalle. El soldado de los cables no tiene explicación, es decir, usas un cautín con un poco de estaño y ya. Solo sigue el diagrama que se muestra. Saludos!!

    perdon, esque no habia visto el video, pero aunque aun no he comprado los materiales, no entiendo como es el inhterior del minhi jack de cuatro conectores, tienes alguna imagen por si acaso??
