The official firmware 6.39 has been released and its main feature is the posibility to connect to the PSN to change your password after the security leak Sony went throuth.
Warning
Remember this is an official upgrade, meaning that this procedure will revert anything you’ve done to your console, for instance, it will revert any hacking. In other words, You will NOT be able to play backup games from the memory stick, you will NOT be able to run homebrew, and you will NOT be able to downgrade your PSP to a lower version unless your PSP is 100% hackable.Also remember that any exploit may have been patched.
Do it at your own risk.
Upgrading to 6.39
- Download the official firmware 6.39. (PSP GO user use this firmware).
- Rename the 639.PBP file to EBOOT.PBP
- Copy the EBOOT.PBP file into PSP/GAME/UPDATE on your MS. Create any folder if necessary.
- Remove your PSP safely.
- Now go to the XMB, go to game menu and run the update as is shown on the video.

@Michael este es un firmware oficial. Debes instalar uno custom como el 6.60 PRO para poder leer los respaldos de tus juegos desde la memoria. Saludos!

Hola oye ya hici lo de el video y de hecho ya lo tenia pero por accidente lo formate y ahora ya no reconoce ninguno de mis juegos que antes si reconocia ( los tenia en la memoria)

hola. no puedo descargar firmware oficial 6.39.tengo psp 3000 v.6.20 mi intencion es poder usar go! explore para actualizar los mapas yá que sony no lo hace.

hoye tengo un psp 2001 con version 5.00 m33-4 que necesito para poder jugar juegos desde la memori lo quiero actualizar a 6.39 y se queda en la pantalla blanca donde dice psp por que no actualiza que me falta o que ocupo para jugar

@RUBEN instala primero el firmware oficial 5.00 y luego 6.39 (o mejor aun 6.60). Saludos!
